Maybe there is a possibility to use Melodyne and Session Drummer in Ableton too? What's the folder/location of your VSTs currently? From what I'm reading, they'll either be in a generic location (something like. I want to have the ability to switch between them. Though Ableton seems the better DAW for my purposes (for example the multimap feature) I dont want to uninstall Sonar because of Melodyne and Session Drummer.

So hopefully Ableton will use all my VSTs properly when using this folder. On Windows 7 all my Plugins in Sonar are installed in a special plugin folder.

Worst case scenario, you'd just have to reinstall the plugins you want to use. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable with windows will chime in, but I'm sure there's a way to do it you wouldn't have to re-purchase all your plugins or anything ridiculous like that. In windows, if they're located in a DAW-specific folder, I imagine you'd have to copy your plugin files into the proper folder for each DAW you plan on using, or you'd have to tell the DAW to locate the plugins in that folder. Are you using Mac or Windows? I'm not positive with windows, but with a mac your plugins are all located in the same components folder, the file path is separate from your DAW, and any compatible DAW host application should be able to access them. from the plugin folder in sonar to my plugin folder from Ableton? Is there something to take care of? Do I have to install my plugins again for Ableton?I could be wrong, but I'm PRETTY sure they'll work fine. If there any problems using my installed plugins in Ableton now? Can I easily copy all of my plugins like Zebra2, Massive etc. I am using Sonar X Producer atm and I am switching to Ableton Live 9.
